A Very Happy New Year 2008 to esteemed members of MABL, families and friends.
The Malaysian Association of Belgium and Luxembourg (MABL) was established as a legally registered association in Belgium in the summer of 2002 with the strong support of the Malaysian Embassy in Brussels. The primary objective of MABL is to promote interaction between MABL members and ‘friends of Malaysia’ regardless of culture, race, religion or nationality by organizing social and cultural events which are in line with this objective.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all current MABL members for their active contributions in helping MABL achieve its goals. We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our invitation to all current members to come together again in 2008 to support us and to fill our MABL activities with laughter and joy.
Since 2004, MABL has been contributing RM1,000 to HOSPIC MALAYSIA on a yearly basis. This year, we’ll be following the same tradition. This donation will be made possible through funds collected from the many MABL activities held over the course of 2007. It is our sincere hope that we will be able to continue this charitable tradition for many years to come.
2007 had been a year of festivals and we embark 2008 with a different twist; this year, our events will spin off with the MABL HIGHTEA 2008 on March 30th, followed by a Malaysia Festival in Wallonia on 6th July, a Family Outing in summer, followed by the MABL GALA DINNER 2008 at the heart of Brussels in October and, finally, the Annual General Meeting in early December for 2009/2010.
Presently MABL consists of 100 members (comprising family, individual and student memberships) and we hope to increase our numbers - “the more the merrier”. So we urge all Malaysians and ‘friends of Malaysia’ to join MABL in true Malaysian spirit. For renewal of your MABL membership 2008, please submit your payment as mentioned on the website.
